ARFink... my good friend... Don't you even THINK about bringing your pet to my state we hang people from that bridge for that.... we don't kill'em, you understand... we just LET THEM DANGLE and think about what they done. Kinda like... standing in a corner... Edited February 2, 2013 by AnneLine
AnneLine Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Trust you saw, ARFink, that I left a good-bye present in your old thread... .EVIL. AnneLine is a :brutebeast:
arfink Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 I did see it. So AnneLine, what's your favorite plant or zombie from Plants vs. Zombies?
AnneLine Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 (edited) Hmmm... I think I really like the Torchwood. Reminds me of the Holy Spirit. Doesn't seem to do much... until someone sends a pea through it... and then watch out -- stuff gets interesting! Strangely enough, this guy seems to see PvZ in exactly the same way I do -- a battle of good vs evil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-Vjw11ldss And Torchwood seems to be very hospitable to visitors from cold climes, too! Anybody else like this game? Which ones do YOU like? Edited February 2, 2013 by AnneLine

arfink Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Anybody else like this game? Which ones do YOU like? I think Plants vs Zombies looks really cool, and I'm looking forward to trying it. Here are 3 of my all-time favorite games, in no particular order: Minecraft- this one is pretty much completely obvious. Here is the cheesy official trailer. :) http://youtu.be/MmB9b5njVbA Metal Slug series- this is what you might call a run-n-gun platformer game. It has explosions. Lots of explosions. I happen to also be very good at it. I have Metal Slug 1 and Metal Slug 3, and used to have Metal Slug 2. http://youtu.be/Iy9mkAqTtG8 The phorum only lets me put in 2 videos per post, so the third game will post as soon as I hit the edit expiration. arfink Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Quake 1- This game is dark and gritty, and incredibly fast paced. The game is still very challenging and fun to play even though I've played it occasionally since 1998. It has large maze-like levels, tricky puzzles and traps, and monsters around every corner. Still one of the best FPS games around, especially with the giant piles of mods and new levels which are still being produced now in 2013. :) http://youtu.be/5dNoPiK7uhw Edited February 3, 2013 by arfink
AnneLine Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Those are 3 intense games, ARFink... I can't imagine even being able to get started in there..... I'm impressed and believe you that you are good at them..... wow.
arfink Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 I know you'll like Minecraft AnneLine. I can't wait to show it to you. :)
arfink Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Wow, this is a cool sounding tune. :) I realize now that Nero is basically dubstep mixed with 19A0s. http://youtu.be/XLIYkV96Qic
arfink Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Look at this tiny elephant curved into the tip of a carpenter's pencil. Just look at it.

AnneLine Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Look at this tiny elephant curved into the tip of a carpenter's pencil. Just look at it. He's DARLING, ARFink! But I wonder how tiny you'd have to make the mythbusters and mice to recreate this video (and it is worth watching!)..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpTSA_25wGE
arfink Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Today is the day I'm packing my things. Soon I'll be in San Francisco. Actually tomorrow at 5 PM Pacific Time I'll be in San Francisco. :bounce: So. Excited. However, there is one little nagging detail from work: (quoted from my G+ post) The situation: the boss just decided to change the company logo days after I completed the reworking of our 2013 marketing materials. The old logo was ugly, yes. It was blue and had a horrible "Dark Ages of AOL" kind of look to it. But at least everything was pretty consistent. The new logo is also ugly. But it's now yellow and black. It's made with the IMPACT font. It would be laughably bad, except I'm gonna have to work with it. This will not, cannot be, a drop in replacement for any of the work I have done so far, and will require starting over completely from scratch. And not just the 2013 marketing materials. It will require new everything. New website, new business cards, new marketing materials, new document templates, anything and everything that has ever had our logo or the color blue on it will need to be changed. Every. Single. Thing. Guess who will have to do that? With only 5 hours a week of pay? And the best part? Since I'm leaving to go to San Francisco tomorrow I will miss every single meeting in which we would be allowed to give feedback about the new logo. EXPLETIVE PROFANITY POTTY POO! Actually tomorrow at 5 PM Pacific Time I'll be in San Francisco. :bounce: So. Excited. However, there is one little nagging detail from work: (quoted from my G+ post) You got this, dude. Plus, when you get back, tell him if he wants it done then he needs to pay for the extra hours it's going to take, because, let's face it, it's going to take some serious extra time.
arfink Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks Brian. I think if they do try to pull something I'll tell 'em what's what.
AnneLine Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Yeah, I think it is about time for working a plan to explore how to explain to THEM that this is what you are worth... and this is what that would cost them on the open market... and let's work out SOMETHING a bit more equitable. At least some profit sharing, or something! It's becoming a justice issue, frankly. They are hugely taking advantage of you. You are not an indentured servant, ARFink.... My 2 cents (or at the rate you are being paid, my .0000002 cents....)
