If the avatars was changed to something benign and harmless, I wouldn't be writing this post! Changing all our avatars to dopey Kiefer Sutherland! For the lesser complaints about him, I don't think he is such a great actor, I have never and don't watch his TV shows (24 or Touch, etc) nor his movies unless he had a smaller part in one. The biggest reason for my complaint is this is a Catholic site so why HE is chosen as an avatar I have no idea! He is a self-proclaimed Socialist as was his family in Canada. He supported Obama in 2008 and then again in 2012. I have read and seen articles on him in the past and because of this avatar nonsense, I found this disturbing video and article on him: http://lonelyconservative.com/2011/04/keifer-sutherland-the-socialist/ and https://soundcloud.com/tobyknapp/kiefer-sutherland-endorses Whoever, if you MUST play with our avatars - though you really shouldn't as people pick their avatars based on their favorite saint, spirituality, order they hope to enter, etc. - can you not pick one like: 1. The Saint of the Day/Week/Month 2. Religious order Shields/Coat of Arms 3. Cartoon characters even! (but not obnoxious ones like Family Guy, etc.) - I personally am a fan of Bugs Bunny! 4. If you must pick a Hollywood celebrity, how about Jim Caviezel, etc. 5. But best yet...... how about you NOT go around changing everyone's avatars to someone so liberal and who, like myself, don't like him and find him offensive! wah wah wah.

We have been without a rose set since our last priest left for the Southern Cross district. I missed it during Advent- it is always nice to see a good set of rose vestments.

I've never seen any kind of "pink" or "rose" colored vestments worn by my priests. I love their vestments, especially my pastor's. His vestments usually have gold thread running through it. Our former pastor had rather ugly vestments so it was a nice change when the new pastor came in. :)

nikita92 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Ok...so at evening mass..the priest wore a really beautiful dust rose color with a beautiful pattern on it! My priest from my (usual)church always wears the same green or purple vestment that looks to be really really old. (he is 41 yr) With all the beautiful ones out there..it's a shame not to have a quality one.(specially the ones made by religious communities) I wish I could start a charity drive, so we could get him one.;)

In light of the fact that I'm too technically challenged to get a real avatar (I've tried 3 times to no avail. I can't figure out how to get the picture to fit within the Kb limit, and photobucket is too overwhelming--WAY too many choices, none of which I really want anyway), I think I would like to keep this purple one forever--perpetual Advent & Lent.
