After reading further on the interwebs, he appears to be a leading expert on all things papal. However, he is an employee of the National Catholic Reporter. After reading his NCR articles, they are all orthodox, as far as I can tell. So, can he be trusted or not?

Now, I know that Father Z may not be the most liked, but the guy is highly orthodox himself. Yeah, if Fr. Z is willing to vouch for his character, then that is enough for me. They do not always agree, of course. The Reporter is garbage, but his stuff is of a higher caliber.
