I have a few boxes worth of them.... I had better get back to work on that.

TPBM likes or has liked climbing trees.

I've only climbed one tree in my life before, and I was sixteen. I enjoyed it, but it was my first time.

You got that right!   And some parallel situations closer to home.

We will be lucky its just a weekend and not a few week. I see in my three day absence a lot has happened.

TPBM find solace and sanctuary in the lame board.

I actually don't really like the Lame Board that much.

The person below me is now greatly offended.

Posted

Too tired to be offended. Besides, the Open Mic board usually has enough Lame to make me question why a separate Lame board needs to exist.

The person below me is successfully removing their own tattoo.

nope I am actually saving up to get one.

Feels as if Kiev and Venezuela have things in common.

Nope. But I would love to chant the LotH.

TPBM has been nervous about writing to a religious community for the first time about discernment.

Ha ha ha...funny story...I'm a convert and I'd wanted to be a nun for a while but had no idea how to go about it. At my Confirmation interview, my priest asked me if I'd thought of being a nun. I said, "Yes!" and he said, "Great! I'll get you in touch with a Vocations Director, you'll LOVE her." Then, three months later, I hadn't heard anything so I went back to his office, and he said "OH you want to be a nun? That's wonderful! I'll get you in touch with a Vocations Director, you'll LOVE her."

Then, several weeks after that, he gave me the number!! So I freaked out a little for a month or two, even visited a psychologist to be sure there wasn't anything majorly wrong with me that might be an impediment to religious life, and finally I cradled the phone in my sweaty little hand and actually dialed all the numbers!!

"This is Ron," said the guy on the other end.

"Sorry, wrong number."

So my priest asked if I'd ever called the Vocations Director, and I said, "Yes, but it was Ron," and he said, "RON? Who's Ron? Maybe I gave you the number to a bar and grill?"

I did eventually get the correct number, and I really, really, really didn't like the place he was trying to send me, but its the thought that counts. After that, I realized that you can just write to whatever community you like, you don't have to go through a priest or Vocations person.

The Person Below Me is laughing at me right now.

Oh yeah!

TPBM doesn't think I'm crazy to want to go and pray the Rosary in the nearby cemetery.

I've never had it...I've been wanting to try a more "natural" approach, though.
