I looked up the Italian and the whole message and he does mention monks and nuns and the part quoted on Vatican news is actually "suore" --Sisters. We use nun and sister interchangeably but usually the Holy Father, a religious himself, makes the distinction. Edited February 2, 2014 by Sr. Mary Catharine
