There's a Trappistine hermit at Mississippi Abbey in Iowa. She just celebrated her golden jubilee as a Trappist nun, but she's beena hermit for over thirty years.

Yes, the stories are incredibly interesting!  There is also a new book by Isacco Turina called The New Hermits:  The Flight

from the World in Modern Italy.  Not sure it is available yet in the USA.  The online reviews are compelling!
