A very needed apostolate! In Chicago we had the (in)famous Edwina Gately who founded Genesis, a ministry helping prostitutes get off the streets, learn everyday office and homemaking skills, turn their lives around, and become contributing members of society. Granted, she went off the rails theologically after a bit, but her ministry was spot on.

I met two of these sisters once, they were really lovely. Such an important apostolate too.

I'm actually really surprised that the brothel and club owners will let them in - I would think they wouldn't want to see a nun anywhere near their establishment.  This is such an important apostolate.

I know "we already got in trouble" over this, but oh my gosh, what darling habits! To me, the minute I saw them (and I've never even heard of this Order before) I just felt such gentle love from them. This was an example for me on how a habit can really speak to the soul! Rose

I finally got to read the article...I'm in awe of these sisters. I'm also very impressed with the amount of spiritual warfare prayer that they are using. God will continue to use them, protect them & bless them. :nunpray:

A little talk about habits isn't bad; however, when it ends up dominating/derailing the threads OP/topic, causing others in VS to report this to me -along with the habit bashing- then I see a problem with it. If a topic inspires you to have a discussion about habits then by all means start a thread to carry on that discussion. It's really easy to do.

What a beautiful and challenging apostolate. I have worked with a few women who have come from similar situations and it is very hard to deal with what they have been through. 

I echo what the Sister said about needing prayer it really is the only way you can deal with/process that type of thing.

I pray that they will continue to get vocations.
