When I saw the thread title, I mentally heard 'buy a nun a book' being sung to the tune of 'Knick-knack-paddy-whack, give a dog a bone'. :P A fantastic idea. I'll join in too.

I bought a nun a paper-punch for making gift tags.

I have a bunch of books I'm sending to the new FSP community in Texas. Woohoo! They need books for a library, and I'm done with some books, so yay!

The article is very true! It's a very nice idea :) And also that once in a while it is good to read "secular" stuff - one has to know a bit about economy, politics, how social systems work in the country you are in... Last christmas I got a weekly newspaper subscription as a present and it is really one of the best presents I got! It keeps me (and the community) up to date and grounds my intercession in the reality. To read a good newspaper once a week is manageable :) (I do not manage to read daily newspapers, simply no time...)
