Forgot some, two of which I found today:

  1. Die Another Day - Madonna (Name says it all)
  2. Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees (Name says it all)
  3. When I'm Gone - Simple Plan (So long, you'll miss me when I'm gone)
  4. Suicide is Painless - Johnny Mandel (suggestion?)
  5. It Must have been Love - Roxette (But it's over now)
  6. Grenade - Bruno Mars (I would catch a grenade for you, but you won't do the same)
  7. Careless Whisper - George Michael (Oh Honey...)
  8. Going Underground - The Jam (Name says it all)
  9. Going Down to Die - Danzig (Name says it all)

You know, it's a tough choice when I've never thought of this much. What last words would I want to leave with the world, my words to them, comfort for them, my own hopes, where I am going (though I don't feel like the super "I'm going to heaven" types, especially right now). I guess one thing that transcends all that, that matters more than songs like "did I make a difference?" would be about God, and more meaningful than some dance song, more than some clap your hands Gospel, is his faithfulness.

I think I might go with something like this:

This seems like a good sentiment to end on, with truth about my life and something about God that people can take with them. And of course they are welcome to turn my funeral into a party as long as it's a party after they say their good byes. There should be a stereo by the hors d'oevres.

There are so many things yet to be said and done. I hope that I can be that kind of good and faithful servant despite myself.

I should probably include a good silly song to go with that, or at least include:

Because there is always beauty in this world and I think God shows it to us to remind us that life is worth living even in a dying world. There is always a reason to laugh and a reason to smile.

Ash Wednesday

Easy. I've known this for ages.

"Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" is actually one of the most requested songs at British funerals.... :hehe:

Just a reminder to everyone to please remember to keep the boards clean and family friendly, no four letter words. This includes the youtube videos you are posting.

Whatever churchy goodness the congregation wants to sing (assuming anyone shows up to my funeral) would be fine. I probably won't care what songs people are singing, I'll just want prayers.

idk just not scott hahn.

whoops I had a brain fluffy air extraction. I meant "not Dan Shutte." I guess I mixed up one disyllabic white boy name for another.

But yeah please don't play Gather Us In or any other such tripe.

Not A Mallard

Specific music starts at 1:19 (and somebody in the comments has the same idea).

HopefulHeart

I don't know what religious hymns or chants I would like. I'll have to think about that.

Also, I know I posted about North and South recently and am going to seem like such a fangirl, but I really, really love this piece.
