Hi everyone,

Do any of you know any women's communities that have farm/ sustainable living apostolates or monasteries? :-)

Off the top of my head...St. Walburga's & Abbey of Regina Laudis. I'm sure there are many more!

There are active congregations that have farms and other sustainable settings as part of their ministries.  The Michigan IHMs, for instance, have St. Mary's Organic Farm: http://ihmsisters.org/living-justly/sustainable-community/motherhouse-campus/motherhouse-grounds/st-mary-organic-farm-community-garden/

More information on active sisters (in the US) who have farms as one of their ministries can be found in this book: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Sisters-A-Spiritual-Ecology/dp/0674034953

The RSMs in Jackson, MN have a land program, or at least they did when I visited with them years back.

Our Sisters have a farm also, but now, much of the land is rented out to a local farmer.

They still have gardens, though.
