chrysostom Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/tv/ct-chicago-nun-wins-chopped-20151109-story.html Sister Alicia Torres, recently professed in the Franciscans of the Eucharist in Chicago, won $10,000 for the Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, which feeds poor in Humboldt Park. Way to go.
Pia Jesu Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Great news! Mother Teresa once said that "there is hunger for ordinary bread, and there is hunger for love, for kindness, for thoughtfulness; and this is the great poverty that makes people suffer so much." The Chicago Franciscan sisters certainly live out their charism of service in meeting these needs. Blessings!
katherineH Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I can't wait to see the episode! Hopefully they have it up soon.
chrysostom Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 wow thanks for the huge spoiler Urgh sorry, I didn't look at the dates...it hasn't aired yet? I don't watch TV... I know the damage is mostly done but I don't mind if a mediator closes this thread until it airs to save the other poor souls out there from getting spoilered...
