Luigi Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/06/arts/design/rev-robert-palladino-83-scribe-who-shaped-apples-fonts.html?smid=pl-share&_r=3 Fr. Robert Palladino was a master calligrapher; he taught Steve Jobs. Much of the article focuses on that. But the interesting part is that he was originally a Trappist monk/priest (Guadalupe Abbey in New Mexico, which later moved to Oregon), he left the order after Vatican II, was laicized, married and had a son, and then was re-ordained as a diocesan priest after his wife died. All of that is detailed starting about two-thirds of the way through the article. Some of them monks are some int'resting folks!
Gabriela Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 What a lovely, simple man. They don't make em like that anymore!
RafaelCordero Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Correction: The NYT article says "re-admitted to the priesthood," NOT re-ordained. Ordination leaves an indelible mark on the soul (See CCC 1583).
