DominicanHeart Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I know I ask a lot of questions and I'm sorry. Last night when my pastor was telling us about how we need to make reparations for the outrages of the Eucharist, I thought about how we digest the Eucharist and we all know how that works. My friend told me Jesus is only present fully for about 15 minutes afterwards. Is that true?
CatherineM Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 15 minutes in the stomach. A lifetime in the heart.
LittleWaySoul Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I've always heard that, yes. Many of my friends even try to wait at least 15 minutes following communion before eating anything in order to be reverent towards His presence inside them.

First I hear of the 15 minute 'rule' but makes sense. 100% agree with lifetime in the heart... He is always there - but each communion it is our hearts that opens anew and have His presence felt to us.
