It was opined by dUSt to be marginally inappropriate for some potential readers with a jokey label. It was the context of the thread and probable immaturity of a few others. Other than that, it was a beautiful and technically remarkable painted depiction of a young woman. We find what we seek. Sometimes we aren't willing or capable of setting their sights a little higher.

Are we called primarily to charity in all things and love of neighbour or not? Do we owe each other respect and consideration or not? If not, then I guess some of us must be what is termed "cafeteria Catholics. We pick and choose our Catholic beliefs which enters into into our thoughts, words and actions. What does the Phatmass 'title', description whatever, "Church Militant" mean? Some things just do not belong on a Catholic Discussion site where anyone including children can access. Common sense surely tells one that. I never saw the picture in question if it was actually posted or just a link. I accessed the thread only after dUSt had brought down his decision and taken out whatever - and contention really started up. dUSt is the boss of Phatmass in all things Phatmass and if we don't like it nor his decisions, too bad how sad. That is more or less paraphrasing a quote from the New Testament too. A comment and off topic: It gets right up my nose that I am not permitted to post into Vocation Station anything relating to private vows as a call and vocation from God. Yep! it gets right up my nose well and truly indeedy - but it is the rule on Phatmass and therefore a decision made or confirmed by the Adminstrator (aka The Boss), dUSt, for all membership of Phatmass. It is just too bad how sad for my nose problems and I know it , don't like it one little bit in the least- but I do respect it and therefore obey the rule without pedantic looking to the letter, rather the spirit. It is a very famous painting, on permanent display in the Young and Jackson Hotel in Melbourne. I would encourage you to take a look for yourself. It is a tragedy when puritanism prevents people from seeing such masterpieces.

You have to respect other people's opinions and be sensitive to other people's weaknesses (especially younger persons). It's one thing to view and discuss the Art in a gallery. Not quite the appropriate circumstances for mature and respectful chasteness.

Josh, It matters to me because I think it should matter to people on various philosophical, social, emotional, and intellectual grounds. Not simply because I belive it's a divine entity's command. Similar to how a Catholic can discern and argue that woman don't need to wear burkas.
