Trappist nuns - Iowa:

"Come and See" Weekend

April 3-5, 2020

October 16-18, 2020

Join the community in prayer for the liturgy of the hours and Eucharist. Listen to some of the sisters speak about our way of life, and how God led them to Mississippi Abbey. Meet other women exploring God’s call in their lives. Have the opportunity to ask questions, take time for extra silence and prayer, visit one-on-one with a sister about your own discernment, and enjoy the beauty of nature around us.

Open to single Catholic women ages 18 – 40.

If you are interested in joining us for the weekend click here to fill out our Vocational Inquiry form [I insert the page URL here}  https://www.mississippiabbey.org/Come-and-See-Weekends

or contact Sr Myra, our vocation director:

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity (see above) are offering a series of Discernment Events and Retreats in 2020. Please remember we’re always glad to come to you as well, if you’re in driving distance from one of our mission sites in the SW, Central, Midwest US, Ohio or Mississippi.

We enjoy driving – we’re a mendicant order after all – time to pray and reflect on the wonderful dioceses and people where we serve.

We have a Come and See coming up May 15-18, 2020.  Great opportunity for those wanting to learn more about prayer and know more about Religious Life. No matter what a person is called to, we are called to Receive God's amazing Love and to share that love with others.

"Receive Love - Be Love" Come and See Retreat

From the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, NY - this is the congregation that takes of incurable cancer patients. This link lists four Come & See weekends in 2020 - the first one is this very weekend, so that ship has sailed. But there's plenty of lead time for the other three this year.
