School debt is a bear though. I had a negative net worth for 22 years! If I have kids, I am sending them to Kenya for college. So they had better like the motherland, or study hard and get a scholarship. It is what it is.

I'm so glad... maybe this will be a missing piece for you. My husband and I have regularly given to Mater Ecclesiae. It's not that I'm opposed to people helping our future religious with their debts, but rather, it should be done with as much prudence as possible to have the best outcome, whether the person stays in religious life or not.

Just send them to the community college instead... then finish off at a four-year school.  My daughter will graduate in May with zero debt following this plan.
