theculturewarrior Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004
I had grits today...
You are now a Southerner. Next try biscuits and gravy. Pretty soon yull be sayin' YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! Sincerely, Johnny Reb.
Moosey Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 (edited) Well...I've never been "scaried" before...maybe scared... Ok the reason I had grits is because the people I babysit for are from Louisiana...very thick accents too Edited July 8, 2004 by Moosey
Thy Geekdom Come Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004
You are now a Southerner. Next try biscuits and gravy. Pretty soon yull be sayin' YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW! Sincerely, Johnny Reb.
Johnny Reb...lol...so you actually liked my insult? Listen, I've had grits...I've had biscuits and gravy...I'm still a Yankee...
Luthien Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Yankee Doodle... Who the heck wears a macaroni in his hat? Weirdo...
theculturewarrior Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004
Johnny Reb...lol...so you actually liked my insult? Listen, I've had grits...I've had biscuits and gravy...I'm still a Yankee...
First off, it's not an insult. Second off, it appears you liked mine. And thirdly, yeah, you're still a dang yank...but uh, that's you!
Carrie Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 you got a problem with yankees? Let's take this outside. (and I hate driving but not because I'm in the boonies but because I'm in NY and everyone drives crazy here)
theculturewarrior Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 You're not a yankee Carrie. To be a yankee you have to eat grits and biscuits and gravy and not relate to Southern culture, or phailing that, you need to move to Texas and complain about the way people talk.
Carrie Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 I thought to be a yankee, you need to live in the north. I’ve never had grits and biscuits with gravy. But I can’t relate with Southerners (never been to the South, unless you count Florida). Not moving to Texas…and being from NY I have no right to complain about others’ accents. Ok, so I guess we won’t take it outside.
Colleen Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004
Yankee Doodle... Who the heck wears a macaroni in his hat? Weirdo...
Macaroni was actually a type of hairstyle during Revolutionary times. So when Yankee Doodle put a feather in his hat, he was trying to go "Macaroni" style, or so the song says. But I'm sure you wanted to know that.
StColette Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 lol nope I'm here now after a trip to the doctor, lol I did something really stupid yesterday that I should have known better not to do.
