Laicization

One of my friends confided in me that she thinks her brother might pursue laicization. I don't know the details of the situation. Maybe she'll feel comfortable sharing more later. She and her family live in a different state than me. My friend feels heartbroken. It must be worse for him.

Are there any groups that help priests going through this or their loved ones? I asked if he has a spiritual director or anyone in their diocese to talk to. She doesn't appear to be sure.

I hope someone with some knowledge of such matters will respond to you, TT.  I wish I could help - but I can keep the matter in prayer for all.  It must indeed be terribly difficult for the man, his family and friends - a very difficult decision but The Spirit will indeed Blow Wherever He Will.
