dUSt Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 So someone in my Bible Study group brought up the fact that when everything was destroyed during Noah's flood, this did not include fish or sea animals. The Bible specifically only mentions land animals. This actually made sense to me and I immediately connected it to eating fish during Lent. If the flood is symbolic of Christ's sacrifice, with the wood of the ark being symbolic of the cross, the door in the side of the ark being symbolic of the wound in Christ's side, and all the land animals being symbolic of the "flesh" sacrificed for us--then fish wouldn't be part of this "flesh"--which is what allows us to eat fish during Lent. I haven't seen this talked about anywhere else, but it kinda blew my mind. haha
