Tomorrow, Sunday, March 22, Rome will welcome 60,000 runners from all over the world for the Rome Marathon. For the first time, a cardinal met the athletes at the Expo Village in Circus Maximus.

Cardinal Archbishop Jean-Paul Vesco of Algiers, where Pope Leo will travel to on April 13, will also celebrate Mass for the athletes at 6:00 PM today at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli. He will then run the marathon alongside the other athletes tomorrow morning."

We must be living in the 21st century if cardinals are running marathons...
