but first, i have to pick a design, and where to put it. i'm thinking a small celtic cross or rosary on the inside of my wrist.

then, once i have the design, i'll sit on it for a few months, to make sure i still like it. so it'll be awhile yet before i get it.

I've always wanted a tatoo. In old english characters... "Nigra sum, sed formosa."

what does that mean?

It's from the Song of Songs. "I am black but beautiful."

wish I had been orthodox back when I got ink...

Posted

what do you have? would it be possible to cover it up? that's how a lot of people switch/get rid of ink that they aren't happy with.

Posted

go for it red. I have one and would love another but I need more time to think about it.

ewwwww so you do like carp?

Posted

thanks, carrie.

i'd like to get something religious, like a celtic cross, a rosary, or something like that.

Thats a good idea to sit on the idea for a little. It sounds like a pretty cool tatoo

thanks! and, yeah, all my tattoos i have waited to get them. that way, if you don't like it in 3 months, how are you gonna stand it for the rest of your life?

I have the symbol for Capricorn on my shoulderblade. It's kind of medieval looking.
I wish I hadn't gotten it, and here's why. A friend of mine once made the point to me that the body is a temple. So I kind of view a tattoo as grafitti. Interestingly, I believe there are some Rites that still practice ceremonial tattooing...don't ask me who they are though :D
If I was gonna get one now, I would get a Latin motto somewhere. Probably, "If it's not broke, don't fix it"

have you tried checking with any tattoo artist to see if there is anyway of getting it covered over?

very true! thats so much better than going and getting one on some spur of the moment thing because then you end up sobering up and not wanting it lol

actually, if you go to a reputable artist, they will kick you to the curb if you come to get a tattoo high or drunk
