pat22 Posted October 8, 2009 Share Posted October 8, 2009 this is from "the titans curse" which my little sister made me read last summer. if you dont know the story then basically the ancient greek mythological gods are alive and still in power. this is a part with atermis and apollo the olympian twins. and a few other characters. ..he raised his hands in a stop everything gesture. 'I feel a haiku coming on.' The Hunters all groaned. Apparently they'd met Apollo before. He cleared his throat and held up one hand dramatically. "Green grass breaks through snow. Artemis pleads for my help. I am so cool." He grinned at us, waiting for applause. 'That last line was only four syllables,' Artemis said. Apollo frowned. 'Was it?' 'Yes. What about I am so big-headed?' 'No, no, that's six syllables. Hmm.' He started muttering to himself. Zoe Nightshade turned to us. 'Lord Apollo has been going through this haiku phase ever since he visited Japan. 'Tis not as bad as the time he visited Limerick. If I'd had to hear one more poem that started with, There once was a goddess from Sparta--' 'I've got it!' Apollo announced. 'I am so awesome. That's five syllables!'' I don't take junk whether I'm full, hungry or snackin'. Snap jaws at deer, reindeer, sasquatch and salmon. And banish-ing tourists and forest rangers. Putting in the ground those investigating the dangers. They sent 12 men and Ted Nugent with gauges. I snuck attacked, mauled em out, felt a poke and in my rage pulled the tranq out my back, stabbed 'em with it and caged 'em. Wiped my jaws with my paws and then broke in half their tasers. A mountain lion came to me saying he wanted to rassle. I said, "run pussycat or end up like the dead last one." But, I'm still low-key. Like to loaf and eat. Be and see. Look at trees in the breeze. I smash honey bees ... if they sting my eye, Just give a sample cup. I'll move on satisfied. Life in the forest is kill or die. So thank you for that window sill apple pie.
