What Exactly Do We Expect From God?

There has been a lot of mystery and controversy over this question. Anyone who has any interesting views are welcome to post.

First, we do not have the right to expect anything from God. He is not obliged to keep us in existence. It is purely out of unconditional love that we are permitted to exist.

Second, given what God has promised, we can look forward to (but not expect, properly speaking) eternal life, if we accept Him in faith acting through love. Salvation entails being completely giving of ourselves to God and being completely filled with His love.

i agree. scripture is full of His promises, and that is what we can expect. He is never changing.

what I truly deserve (wrath and Hell for my sinfulness) and His promises are two different things......

I trust in His Mercy.
