jasJis Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I cannot comprehend what Ivan is going to bring. I work for a traffic signal company and have driven through central Florida and have seen the destruction on the east coast, central Fla., and here in Tampa, the west coast. We've had crews from out of State here for weeks. It sad to see homes and business that have been severely damages TWICE, plus all the trees down, the flooding, etc., and now another hurricane. Trucking companies won't ship to Florida until after Wednesday. Were running out of gasoline as Gas tankers can't come into Tampa. We got a few ships in yesterday and today, and that's it until after Ivan is gone. Many gas stations have been out of gas, there are still many that don't even have power. Many Counties still have tens of thousands of people with not power. Here in Tampa many roads are still flooded. Roads have major sinkholes, many trees are down because of the saturated ground. The east coast is tore up; the south west coast is tore up; central fla. is tore up. It seems like its going to be so bad, it will take a couple of years to recover.

VeraMaria Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 UGH. Miami is still cleaning up, and we didnt even really get Frances. Now Ivan's pointing straight at FL and is steadily being pushed west by a High pressure zone. Thirs hurricane in a month. Let;s just hope it slows down as it passes over Cuba I hate hurricanes.
