With Florida still devastated from Charley, Frances and Ivan, not either late tonight or early tomorrow, Jeanne will make landfall.

It's predicted to make landfall anywhere from Miami to Ft. Pierce

People are so tired and worn out from hurricanes that they have given up preparations and are underprepared, plus today is Yom Kippur, the Jewish holy day of atonement, and a lot of Miami's population is Jewish, so they are in temple and are not preparing.

Even if it was to hit North FL, which it seems it won't do, we'll get strong tropical force winds and rains and flooding here, or so it seems, and central FL, not anywhere closer to recovered, will get slammed yet again. Miami-dade shelters, as well as shelters farther up north, are up since 6 am today, and mandatory evacuations for the coast have been given.

I'm staying here in my house, we're just shuttering up, although we don't have anough supplies because after Frances the supermarkets never re-stocked on water, etc, enough for the demands of this hurricane.

So if you live in a hurricane watch/warning area please check in, and the rest please pray :(

no you won't...

because I'll check in here ;)

Wind is picking up, some light showers...I hate this gradual arrival of a hurricane...I wish it would just make landfall

If you know where Miami is, we're right where the where the lower green bands are hitting.

It's raining in torrents and speeds here are starting to approach Tropical Force winds...so I have to turn off the comp.

Thanks for the prayers, please pray for those in the area of the landfall.

i'm down here in Coral Springs (its N'ern Broward County, just south of Boca Raton, about in the middle of W Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale) and the winds have been picking up with the rain. We have had a gust that I estimated at about 45 mph and i've been seeing even a few of the now familiar blue flashes of light in the distance -- the transformers for electrictity blowing. Fortunately we still have power and only a few branches down last i could see. Thanks for all the prayers, as I am praying for all those hit harder than I am, particularly along the Treasure Coast (Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River Counties).
