Computer Help Needed!

When I try to open the "My documents" folder (or my pictures folder, music folder, etc...) the bar on the bottom of my computer disappears for a few seconds and the folder never pops up. OR it will show up, but it will show an error pop-up and shut it down immeadiately. help!

Possibly a virus

try kicking it as hard as you can........If that doesnt work drop it from a second story window...that usually works for mine...

it's still not working

i ran my virus scan and two different adware/spyware programs.....i only found some spyware and i deleted it

it's still acting the same way

TrendMicro has a free online virus scan. Also *first* try running LavaSoft's Ad-Aware SE. It is faster and often it is some spyware and not a virus. Just an idea.

Some questions to help troubleshoot

What version of Windows?
Have you installed any of the Service Packs?
What version of IE are you using?
Have you recently installed anything?

Try fixing your registry with registry mechanic

It is not freeware but you have a trial period.

Find a computer store, not like a Dell computer store but a computer store for real nerds or hig tech peoples... They can solve almost any problem! I think it is time for your computer to see a doctor! What make is your computadora?

'tis a dell actually...maybe re-installing windows would do the trick?

That would take a long time... I would suggest you diagnose and pin point the problem before you try fixing it with out knowing what is actually wrong... Call tech support about, do something to find out what is wrong before you mess things up. Have you restarted the computer and has it happened after you reboot?
