Thy Geekdom Come Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 I'm very proud of you, Jen. I think you've found your place. I was hoping you would see it.
StColette Posted October 12, 2004 Author Posted October 12, 2004 Now to figure out how to get enough financial aid to attend a Catholic Uni. And which Catholic Uni to attend lol
DancesforLove Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Jennie complain to the dean, write him a professional letter that doesn't seem like you hate the professor or anything. If the rest of the class is having trouble too you might want to mention it and mention the class average. My sister had to do that last year and the professor no longer has that problem.
StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 hehehe Chelsea you should always read the entire thread

StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 man scholarships are going to be needed extremely bad
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 yeah, we've got loans, and they are a couple thousand each... It's not very fun.
shelly_freak Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 yeah I'm gonna be needing scolarships soon
franciscanheart Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I'm so excited for you jennie, and oh so proud too!! youre awesome girlie.... a true example!! i wish you the best of luck with this new plan.... i know its going to be great!! as always, lots of prayers. God bless, Laura Je t'aime en Christ hehe i remembered
shelly_freak Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I know how it feels to change your major like that. Right before starting college I had a calling to be a youth minister and study theology and other fun stuff. So I had to change everything with my counselor and she was mad at me. It was kinda funny actually.
StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 lol changing my major isn't all that bad it's going to be coming up with money to pay for Theology school
shelly_freak Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 oh yeah that too. changing going to community college which costs me around 1,200 a year to the very costlyness of a catholic college is gonna be a big shock, my parents might kill me
StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 My Uni only costs me around 2,000 per semester right now, and I live at home so no room and board to pay for. Now looking at certain Catholic Unis. my dad knows how much it'll cost and he'll help as much as he can,but sadly this is going to have to solely depend upon me receiving financial aid and scholarships. So I'm writing letters left and right to every Catholic org I can think of and filling out non-religious based scholarships lol
littleflower+JMJ Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 you'll be great adn awesome in whatever you do jennie! prayers for you and know that anything is possible with G-O-D!! :cheer: and no matter what the pham is proud of you!
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004
So I'm writing letters left and right to every Catholic org I can think of
Catholic organizations can help you out like that? WHOA!
-I---Love Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 st vincent college in PA gives A LOT of scholarship money!!! It depends on ur need of course, but they even give money for ppl that are out of state to attend! If you went to a catholic hs and tons more! check out their website www.stvincent.edu good luck anyways
StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 lol I hope they can !!! If not I'm up a serious creek without a paddle! If the Church is dependent upon the youth and that we are the future of the Church what better thing to do then to help them get through school so that they can be strong leaders of the Church.

StColette Posted October 13, 2004 Author Posted October 13, 2004 Thanks I---Love Financial need basis let's see: dependent upon a single parent who is disabled.
-I---Love Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 um u should seriously apply then cause they give A TON for good grades, SAT's, "leadership awards - which basically everyone can get something," you should seriously get a lot here - except it's 28,000 a yr, but seriously it's possible they would give you 26,000 - with God all is possible.... plus I get A LOT and i have 2 parents who aren't disabled a tip: don't back down and call schools back 2,3, 4 times to bargain w/ them - i did it and it works even a little bit and they'll give you more - keep saying if you just get a little more then you can go there or else you gotta go some where else think of it as a debate that you HAVE to win - and if you're meant to it should work out also meeting the college finance ppl in person helps a lot!
