INTERVIEWS FOR FOR LAKE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT JUDGESHIP SET

Interviews for an upcoming vacancy for a judgeship on the Lake County Superior Court will be held on Friday, February 11, 2005.
Associate Supreme Court Justice Robert D. Rucker, a former Gary resident, will preside over the selection process as chairman of the Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission. Justice Rucker was named chairman of the Commission in the spring of 2000 by Indiana Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard.
The interviews for the position as Judge of the Lake Superior Court, Criminal Division 3, are open to the public and will be held in the courtroom room of the Lake County Board of Commissions in the Government Center in Crown Point, Ind. After conducting the interviews, the Lake County Judicial Nominating Commission will make its nominations and submit to the Governor of Indiana the names of three candidates.
Application will be available at all offices of the Clerk of the Lake Superior Court. Ten copies of each application must be received by 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the offices of the secretary of the Judicial Nominating Commission, Ronald Layer, at 5832 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, Ind. 46320.
Attorneys who reside in Lake County, are citizens of the United States and are admitted to the practice of law in the Courts of Indiana are eligible to apply.

I'm giving in.... i'm gunna xanga it up

Write 10 things to different people that you have never told them. They can be 10 different people or a few. Don't say whom each one is for.

#1- In the three years we've known each other we've had our ups and downs. We started out with a down! It's okay though because for the most part it was good stuff. We never fought for more than a few hours and even then we didn’t really fight. I love you like a sister and I miss you more and more every day. You may not be the person I thought I knew but I love you anyway. You are my best friend and I will always consider you as such. You always knew how to make me happy. You knew how to make me feel loved. I love you for that. We have similar home lives, similar trials. I never had to say much for you to know exactly how I was feeling, what I was dealing with. We had a lot of the same ideas about life and love and happiness. We carried our lives two different ways but we both had the same goals. You always reminded me how much you cared about me and how much you respected me. I want you to know that I respect you. I respect you for the courage you have every day. I respect you for the decisions you made this summer. I respect you for being able to admit that maybe your choices aren’t the ones you want to make. I respect you for everything that you are and want to be. I love you!

#2- I knew I liked you even before I knew your name. You were just that random kid in the hall that I'd seen before. You were cool in your own way. Then I knew your name, but not you. Now I know you, and I love you! You're the coolest kid ever. We always have fun together, no matter what. We share a faith, though not really. The Goat thing should explain that. You are still very cool in my book and you have meant a lot to me. You're a beautiful kid and I hope you know that. Don't let the fakes get the best of you. We love you.

#3- I hated you sophomore year. Or maybe just fake hated. Either way I like you now and I'm glad I know you. I don't think we are anything alike but I think that's why we get along the way we do. Or sort of. You are my Spanish buddy, always have been, always will be. Hah. What a joke that class was sophomore year! Anyway, you are a talented person. You are smart and funny, even though I may give you a hard time. You make me smile when i’m in the worst of moods and I love that. You are my friend. Have I ever told you that? You are. I appreciate you. I do. You are always there for me when I'm feeling blue about things. You have a way with words, it's awesome.

#4- you are wild and crazy and I don't know how you do it all the time. You are crazy cool. I don't know how I didn't really get to know you before now. I guess because I was crazy myself, only in one of those scary ways. You are a very sweet person with a big heart. You always give, rarely taking time out to make yourself happy. I notice it, and I know others do too. You are an awesome friend to everyone, even those you might not call your friends. You are a real inspiration. I hope you have a wonderful life, you deserve it!

#5- you have a side that you rarely let people see. It's the real you. It’s an awesome side of you and although I can understand why you wouldn’t express that you more often, I really wish you would. You are such a deep and intellectual person. You have such a grasp on the way things should be, the way we should treat each other. You do that every day and I think people fail to see it. But I see it. I see the way you make people feel. Even though they may make fun of your energy, your enthusiasm, you aren’t cruel to people. You treat them all with respect. You are a real friend and I’m honored to know you.



#6- Remember when I didn’t like you? Haha. Yeah at first I wasn’t joking but then I came to like you but you still thought I hated you. Hah. Yeah. That happens a lot. But you’re a really cool person. I had a lot of fun with you last weekend. You are a really awesome funny sensitive person and I’m glad I can call you a friend. I don’t know what happened that sparked this sudden friendship but whatever it is I am grateful for it. You really are so cool. You aren’t like a lot of the people you hang around and I respect you for that. I don’t know a whole lot about you but I look forward to getting to know you a lot better in the short time we have left together. You are awesome. Don’t forget it.

#7- I also hated you. Although, we resolved our differences at the beginning of last year. For a while there we were friends and I actually hung out with you for quite a while outside of the school day. Now we are talking again. A lot. You are a lot of fun to be around. you make people feel special. You make them happy. I had a ton of fun with you and the before mentioned person this weekend. Even through the trials of other relationships you never surrendered to carp, you just had fun. You are such a little kid and I love it. I feel like a little girl when I’m with you and that makes me really happy. I miss those days and like I said you help me to relive them. You have meant more to me than I let on. You are a friend to me and I hope to never forget you.

#8- “We share a faith and have an awesome handshake to prove it.” Remember when I was really weird sophomore year and you were scared of me? Yeah me too. I’m glad I’ve gotten past that now and we talk. You are an awesome gal. Very unique, very awesome. You have your own sense of who you are and you aren’t going to let anyone change that. I respect you for never backing down, for never wavering on something you know is wrong. Though I may not have shown it before, I admire you. I think you are truly awesome person and I can’t wait to come back years from now and see what you have become. Your note, in Wing’s room, it makes my day. It’s stuff like that, however silly other people may find it to be, that makes me laugh and love you all the more! Your writing abilities = awesome. You are an amazing person, never let anyone tell you otherwise.

#9- Best friend of a girl I respect so much. I just met you this year although we talked on livejournal for a good part of last year. You are funny as all get out haha. Seriously you can crack me up with just one look. You seem very proud of who you are and I respect that. You are you no matter what anyone else thinks or says. You are crazy and because you are crazy you are cool. You make entries that make no sense but make me smile. I don’t think I could count the times that I was upset and saw one of your entries only to die laughing because of its randomness. You are an awesome writer. I’m not sure if ive ever told you that. I admire your way with words so much. You have a real talent. Keep it up kid, one of these days someone is going to discover you and you’re gunna make it big!

#10- Did I save the best for last? Possibly. You have meant a lot to me this year. A LOT. You are always so positive about even the most negative situations. You are always there to help me see the good in others, as well as the good in myself. You are a definite keeper for a friend and I’m really glad that I know you. I kick myself all the time for not realizing how awesome you were before. I feel like I’ve wasted time I could have been getting to know you. I know we aren’t that close but I feel close to you. I feel like you know a lot about me. You know “my ways.” We have had some deep conversations when no one else is around, mostly late at night on your couches or in your room, one of us falling asleep in the middle of it. We have fun all the time, no matter what. Ever notice how we start movies and never finish them? It seems like every time I end up at your house we get a movie, start it, but never finish. We always have something way more fun to do. You have made a huge impact on my life. I don’t think you know it. I’m not sure you will ever really understand how much you have changed me as a person. I hope one day I will be able to explain it to you. Maybe one day soon. You won’t read this. I don’t think you will anyway. Either way, you have made a huge and lasting print on my heart. You won’t be forgotten.
