marielapin Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselect...4/countymap.htm This map was in our local paper today along with an editorial on why the Democrats failed to win: because they and the media are out of touch with heartland America. I was really floored at the area of the country that was red.
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Wow, look at oklahoma and nebraska. Completely red. Those states must be a republican's paradise.
qfnol31 Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Most blue areas are (large) cities, and vice versa.
marielapin Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 I noticed that as well. But one interesting thing to notice, is that in the south, the large cities are red and the poorer areas are blue. Just look at Alabama. The top 3 most populated citites are all red....Birmingham, Mobile, Huntsville. I found this quite intriguing. And whats the deal with all the blue around the Mississippi River?
HomeTeamFamily Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 (edited) what i find most interesting is that roughly 75 percent of california is red and yet it still went to kerry edit: same thing with ohio and how there are only like 5 counties that are blue yet it was still relatively close Edited November 8, 2004 by VoloHumilisEsse
1337 k4th0l1x0r Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 I like the comparison between 2000 and 2004. You can see how the south was even further republicanized.
Thy Geekdom Come Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 w00t!!! Not a single blue county in Nebraska!!!
Ash Wednesday Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Whoa Nelly! We're redder 'n communists!!!
thicke Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 Just when I thought I had bragging rights about my state going red, you had to bring up this map and show my county didn't. Thanks a lot!
marielapin Posted November 8, 2004 Author Posted November 8, 2004 I live in Florida, and my county (Okaloosa) had the highest percentage of Bush voters in the entire state.
Paladin D Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 My county (Mecklenburg, Virginia) went red.
Sojourner Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 My county went blue, but the state went red. Big surprise there. The only way my state might go blue is if Sen. Evan Bayh ran for pres.
theculturewarrior Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 my county is red. must be a mistake.
Moosey Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004
w00t!!! Not a single blue county in Nebraska!!!
Dont rub it in
