jmjtina Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 How many times can one recieve communion? I know it's one per Mass, but I heard it's one per liturgy....meaning if you go to Mass twice on a Sunday, if it's the same liturgy, you can't recieve. So how many times may we recieve the Eucharist? thanks. +JMJ
cappie Posted November 16, 2004 Posted November 16, 2004 From the Code of Canon Law: Can. 917 One who has received the blessed Eucharist may receive it again on the same day only within a eucharistic celebration in which that person participates. If you were to go to Mass at 7am and then again at 6pm (or any other time) you may go to communion again. If however you were to go to Mass and then be present at a communion service or be looking after someone who receives communion at home then as you have already gone to Communion at Mass then you would not be eligible. The key words are :only within a eucharistic celebration in which that person participates
