In reality I am quiet when I first meet people but once I get to know them I tend to ramble on. I actually think a lot more about what I say on Phatmass than in real life. I'm also not known for my patience or my tact.

I put forward all my grumpiness and discontent. It tends to kill threads, but meh.
I also try to be humorous, with mixed results.
Sometimes I do edit what I say to make it less harsh.

I think I'm the same PERSON online, just not the same PERSONALITY. I'm not a people person. I can talk for hours on end online, because I don't have to actually talk face to face. I'm good at writing. The Internet has really been a god-send, because now I can be a missionary without going door-to-door.

I'd have to say I definitely put on a mask on PM, however, it's unintentional. I must admit, though I'm only a sophomore in high school, I know a lot about my faith and I've delved pretty deep into philosophy and apologetics. However, when I get on PM, I feel discouraged because of my age, and often only post on random 'silly' threads instead of jumping into the debate threads. I don't know if it's a bad thing, but it's certainly reality.

Don't let your age hinder you. Maybe you would prefer to start in the apologetics section, which doesn't have debate, but only has the apologetics tracts and such. :)

I think I feel more free to be open and 'me' online, but that shows up more in instant messaging. As far as PM, I don't mask anything, I just haven't revealed too much, when I think about it. I don't let loose here.

There are kind of two sides of me that people see. There is a really serious side that most people see pretty much all the time, and there is a really goofy weird side that only really comes out with immediate family and close friends. Other people are lucky to get a glimse of it.

They usually freak out, lol.

Not that I'm not friendly or anything, actually I'm sometimes more outgoing with people when I first meet them.

I find myself retreating into a shell in a firmilar enviornment like school. (don't know why, but I'm not bothered by it, that's starting to turn around anyway)

anyway, no masks, see?

I try to be myself as much as possible but there are things about my life that I don't really share much here.

I feel kind of the same way. I have yet to really delve into the Apologetics and Debate boards.

Yes, but I never hesitate to use the reference section! I tend to get into theological discussion quite easily, and that certainly is helpful. I find it funny that I have no problem debating, discussing and the like in other places. Hmmm...
