if you were going to be murdered (i know this is a hypothetical situation), would you beg for your life...would you offer anything or do anything for your life? or would you just accept it?

Depends on the reason I was being murdered, I think. If it was martyrdom, I'd like to think I'd accept it.

Hmmm...I'd fight it, if for nothing else, to stop a murderer from committing more crimes later. I'd like to think I'd go down like St. Maria Goretti...wanting help, but most importantly, preaching the faith and offering forgiveness even with my last breath.

Not that it's particularly on topic, but I don't want to be "murdered"; I want the media to call it "assinated". And if the situation looked as if there was a possiblity I'd get away I'd beg, but I'd try not to. I like to think I could get away with my cunning or something... then again maybe not. I don't want to die by something stupid though, like a Darwin Award winner... thats another goal, although secondary to the assination thing.

Reminds me of when Julius Caesar was kidnapped by pirates...long before he was famous...it went roughly like this:

Pirate: I say we kill him!
Caesar: Oh, you wouldn't want to kill me. Then I'd have to get revenge!
Pirate: You'd be dead! And you're in no position to be making threats! How are you even going to get out of those ropes?
Caesar: I'm worth a pretty penny to the Romans.
Pirate: What, like 500 denarii?
Caesar: Pffft...try a thousand!
Pirate: Really? Well...I suppose we'd ought to sell you back to them, then...you're worth more alive to them than dead to us!

I'd probably be somewhere in the middle of saying my Act of Contrition, the good Lord's will be done, and well, fighting like mad.

I've been training in the martial arts for about 6 years so I figured I'd try to put it to use. Though real self-defense is not artistic at all. It's very ugly, and the quicker the better. Do what you gotta do and get out. I encourage everyone, especially women, to take a basic self-defense course and know some common sense things to be prepared.

It's not negativity. I just disagree that anyone would have the mental discipline to say an Act of Contrition while fighting for their life with someone hell-bent on killing them. Is that so odd an opinion?

well, I'll definitely fight back because God will appreciate the fact that I tried to save myself because He wants us to defend ourselves if we can, but not at the expense of our Faith. So I'll fight back to save myself and if I end up dying, then God's will had been done. At least I tried.
