Fiat_Voluntas_Tua Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 Everything is as good in so much that it is made by God. Right? God made the Angels. Right? Satan was an Angel. Right? So is Satan good in so much that he is made by God? And if so how can this be, Because evil is a privation of God. So is the devil not a complete privation of God (because Satan was made by God) i.e. not complete evil. This is something I pondered the other day...thanks. Totus Tuus, Andrew Joseph (I am sure there is a fallacy in there somewhere.)
cappie Posted December 13, 2004 Posted December 13, 2004 From the Catechism: 413 "God did not make death, and he does not delight in the death of the living. . . It was through the devil's envy that death entered the world" (Wis 1:13; 2:24). 414 Satan or the devil and the other demons are fallen angels who have freely refused to serve God and his plan. Their choice against God is definitive. They try to associate man in their revolt against God. Their fallen nature was not of God but due to their rejection of God
