dtofdh Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 A protestant pointed out to me that Pope GregoryIII (731), and Pope Constantine (740) both condemned images of saints, Jesus, Mary in worship. That images in worship were also condemned at a Church Council in753 in Chalcedon. He asks how we can continue this practice if we view our popes teachings as infallible. Anyone? Thanks, gina
Pontifex Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I could comment myself on how erroneous these historical accusations are, but I stumbled across a very well thought out apologetic dialogue that fit into your question. I hope this helps. http://www.bringyou.to/apologetics/num55.htm Peace, Fr. Pontifex
