Lil Red Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Well, I just heard that the Cubs lost. They s**k! I'm so peeved! They had it in the bag and they blew it. What losers! okay, maybe i should have titled this, "I am so angry!" oh well. I'm peeved. Vera, please don't rub it in my face!
Paladin D Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 I just saw the ending of the game, I was rooting for the Cubs to win. I wanted a Cubs vs Yankees match up. Though I'm not a big fan of Baseball, I may get into it more again like I was as a child.
Lil Red Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 that fan last night peeved me off so much! I'd like to find him and.......... ninja vanish
Dave Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Well, the Braves were out of the running a while back, thanks to the Cubs! So I guess they got what they deserved!
jmjtina Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003  I'm sorry jess!!!!! how bout some pie throwing? It'll make you feel better!!!! I promise!!!!
Guest VölligChristi Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 I've been a Cub fan since i was about 8 years old and I remember when they went to the playoffs in '89. I've been with 'em through thick and thin since then. I'm sad that they didn't make it to the WS this year, but I'm proud of how they did this year. Dusty has brought hope to the team...and I see many promising years for the Cubbies. Völlig Christi
VeraMaria Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Awwwww, man! I don't get to rub it in, Jess! Just once:................................. The MARLINS BEAT THEM TO A PULP!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever, life goes on!
Paladin D Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Hope that Cubs fan moves far away...he practically made the Cubs loose...
Lil Red Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 didja hear about the announcement he made? He didn't even apologize from my understanding. Stoopid boy!
ryanmeyersmusic Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 i feel sorry for the guy. watch the replay, anyone who could have reached that thing would have, he just happened to be the one that did. poor guy couldn't even go to work. convincing a cubs fan that he cost them the series might drive the guy to suicide. really. poor dude...
Lil Red Posted October 16, 2003 Author Posted October 16, 2003 ryan, good point. If it would have been my husband (he's a life long Cubbies fan) he would be so depressed. My husband's actually not as upset as I am about this.
mp15 Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 That fan had nothing to do with the Cubs losing. Did you stop and consider that if Gonzo had not bobbled the ball they could have turned the double play and ended the inning? I'm mean really, look at all the pictures that have been shown of this guy reaching for the ball. How many of the other fans around him were sitting on their hands? 99.9% of all baseball fans would have done the same thing. It seems a bit petty to blame a fan as the reason for the Cubs losing the series. There are a host of reasons, but some just want to blame it on the easiest scapegoat.
CatholicAndFanatical Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 awww dont be sad CatholicAndFanatical will make it better *gives ya a shot*
BLAZEr Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 I FOUND HIM!!!!! http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/cubfan1.html That poor pitiful excuse for a Notre Dame graduate (yes, sad to say, he's a Catholic and a Notre Dame grad!) who ruined the Cubs world series dreams has been identified and found! Begin your "Reverse" Novenas for his soul.

And it looks like this guy is actually pushing the glove down! Maybe you've never played Baseball Mp15 . . . but this guy is a loser . . .
mp15 Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003  Keep on telling yourself that if it makes you feel any better. Oh and by the way, I'm a huge baseball fan and was watching the game when it happened. All I saw over and over on the replays were a lot of arms in the air trying to catch the ball. I'm not sure what you were looking at, but I saw something totally different. The simple fact though is, it is just a game, get over it. I got it; let's just persecute the guy for being a fan (and by all accounts a huge Cubs fan) and wanting a souvenir. Sheesh.
littleflower+JMJ Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 haha i probably late and all but that was funny! i can't believe that guy caught the ball! oh well! if thats the way the ball bounces.................
mp15 Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Yep I guess everyone was sitting on there hands here.
Guest VölligChristi Posted October 16, 2003 Posted October 16, 2003 I'm not too sure if some of you guys are kidding when you're saying that you are disgusted by this fan and can't believe he's Catholic...I really hope you are. There are far greater things to worry about and be upset about than a baseball game. In the end it's just a game!...nearly not as important as the game of life. Völlig Christi
