ok so if a minor drinks, all these catholic people say its bad, now im wondering, is it that its bad or is it a sin?

i think that the only thing that would make a minor drinking a sin is that if they have low alcohol tolerance than they might binge easily...

Well, for a minor to drink is to go against the law, and since breaking the law (a just law) is wrong/bad, it would be wrong and sinful for him or her to do so.

However, it is legal for a minor to drink under his or her parents' supervision. That would not be wrong or sinful.

Drinking should always be done in moderation. Too much would be sinful.

Is there a distinction between being bad and being sinful? To me, I would think both terms are one and the same.

Doing an evil act (that is, an act lacking due order of goods) isn't necessarily sinful, but most of the time it is.
