the_rev Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 I want to stay close to home, as I hope to pursue either a double major in American Politics and TV/ Radio Broadcasting with an emphesis on sport broadcasting. However, there are many great Catholic colleges out there, but I just don't know which one's would be the best for me. The main thing is Financial Aid, Tuition, and closeness to Home. I am considering a few out of state (my home state of WI) colleges, They include Franciscan Uni at Steubenville and Benedictine in Kansas. But I would like to stay close to home. That way I could go to local events in my hometown such as plays, concerts, etc. But I don't want to be that close to this horrid town though! The colleges in my state, that I'm considering are: St. Norbert College, it is 35 miles away from where i live, and is run by the Norbertines. Marquette University, this is a college in Milwaukee, a little further away. Cardinal Stritch, thi is also in Miluwaukee. Loyala University, Out of state, in Illinois, didn't check out much about them. Anyways, what is the main factors of where you are considering going to college, and where do you want to go?
Noel's angel Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Queens or Saint Mary's cause theyre both close to home
rachael Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Steubie, i don't care how far away from home i am.
Catholic_Pinoy Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 I'm not completely sure yet, but right now I'm considering CUA, UC Riverside, SDSU, Stanford, and UC Irvine. God Bless, Grant
StColette Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Steubie I'll be far from home, but I've gone through 2 yrs of college so far so I think the distance won't be too bad. Over 1,000 miles that's not too much is it ? lol Anyway waiting for an acceptance letter any day now. Pray for me please ?

I'm hoping to transfer to a school far away from home, too, to the University of Dallas. That's where I would have liked to have gone if things had been different, but the past two years at home have been nice, too. We shall see what happens. If you guys could pray for me, too, I'd greatly appreciate it.
StColette Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 lol Colleen we're both so weird lol You're leaving the North to come South and I'm leaving the South to go North lol hehe I think it's a good trade lol

This way, we both get the best of both worlds. I think it's interesting, too, that we both commute to school right now and don't go to Catholic schools. It's a funny coincidence. I will keep you in my prayers, Jennie. I know how you're feeling and I understand the stress and worry you're having to deal with. I just keep saying, "God, may Your will be done. If You want this to happen, then just show me the way. And help me to accept whatever it is You want." Btw, this is my 5000th post.
zwergel88 Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I really want to go to Georgetown, but I'm not sure if I'll get in.

geetarplayer Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I was going to go to Ave Maria in Naples, FL... but they aren't accredited yet... So now I'm thinking UF, UCF, or Flagler. Unless I can find a nice Catholic college that is close to home and isn't St. Leo. -Mark

That made it a no with double underlines and highlights.
let_go_let_God Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I'm at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth MN. It's a beautiful campus and the classes are small. The Catholic credibility was "lacking" but is becoming strong and fast. I absolutely love it here and I couldn't dream of going anywhere else. God bless- LGLG
