franciscanheart Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 My bishop was at the 9 am Mass this Sunday for a special service held annually at our parish for the Holy Name Society. His homily was all about the Eucharist. It was so awesome! He opened with Pope John Paul II's words from his opening address of the Year of the Eucharist. He went on to explain what the Holy Father had called us all to do and even into the arguements of the true presence and how to defend them! It was so good! I walked away in awe of it all. I mean, I had heard the arguements before but never in such a way as he had put them. People often mock him for the way he speaks (and I must admit I sometimes let a giggle slip out at Confirmation) but he really does do such a wonderful job sometimes! He changed my mind about him this past sunday and I only wish I had a copy of his homily! It was awesome. Just wanted to share. heh....
phatcatholic Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 sometimes churches record their services for shut-ins or the bed-ridden who cannot leave their house to go to mass. you may want to check and see if something like that is available.
franciscanheart Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 yeah i dont think our parish does that but i will definitely look into it!
