cathqat Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Just before 4:00pm I got a call at work from my boss (who was out of the office). She asked, "Why aren't you outside?" I said, "Huh?" So she responded, "There's a bomb threat. I just saw the office building on TV." So I looked out the window, and the whole street was swarming with cops and secret service vans. So I went downstairs and out the front door, and the cops yelled at me to go back inside. Apparently that whole street was closed. So I went out the side door and looked around the corner. 15th Street was closed all the way from Constitution Avenue to H Street (where I was), and the streets were full of TV cameras, cops in body armor, armored bomb squad and secret service trucks, FBI agents, and people like me, just gawking. I see lots of motorcades everyday, but I have never seen so many flashing lights and sirens in one place in my whole life. My building was evacuated just before 5:00pm.
