God bless,
Opus Dei is awesome. I would have joined but the closed group is four to five hours away. Most criticisms are from people ignorant of it. Apotheoun Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I didn't find my option in the poll: "I am not in Opus Dei, but Opus Dei is good." Thus, my vote is for the above option. God bless, Todd
crusader1234 Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Ithink Opus Dei is good, but I'm not a member... I also think that there are some heretics inside Opus Dei that are in it for the wrong reason and do extreme things that aren't dogmatic, but that happens everywhere.
Guest JeffCR07 Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I'm Regnum Christi so I'm not OD, but they are very, very good. Like ironmonk said, most people are ignorant of what they do. The Opus Dei priests and lay members that I know are extremely holy people
ironmonk Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005
in my reading about Opus Dei i have found that it really isnt different than living out the normal catholic life...........so why join....youre already catholic? Ellenita Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 The new Secretary of State for Education in England and Wales is supposedly a member!
Joseph Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005
Ithink Opus Dei is good, but I'm not a member...
Seems like heretics attempt to infiltrate anywhere they can. How about another poll choice like........I'm not but I DO like it
Krush2k2 Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 A priest once told me its like Al Quada without the terrorism, Extreme Catholicism. I was like wha? Very shocking he said that. He probably was a little more into the contraversy aura himself.Like Ironmonk and others have stated: Opus Dei is awesome!
Sinner Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Poll is missing obvious options. OD rocks. Texas has just been divided into 2 Archdioceses and the new Archbishop of my area is an Opus Dei priest!!!! Being in OD makes you no more or less Catholic than you were before. It is a Way of exercising your Catholicism. Why join a prayer group? Why join the KofC? Why join a youth group? Why join you fingers together with superglue?
bookin'it Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 what about those who are not members, but love the movement? that would be me! st. josemaria escriva is amazing!! i just introduced my wonderful roommate amanda to his books tonight and she loves them, too. Fr. Jesus Urteaga, author of Saints in the World is also incredible. I highly recommend that book. It's a slap in the face chapter after chapter, but also so hopeful and encouraging. All about being soldiers for Christ.
Ora et Labora Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I am a total Regnum Cristi member but I think Opus Dei is just as cool. It sort of depends on the kind of person you are. Regnum Cristi is very activeand evangelizing, while Opus Dei is more mellow, but very prayerful! They both help you to become good Catholics!
littleflower+JMJ Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 i think its good but im not a member of it. i rather go to those who are in it then whose who dont know or understand it.
