Iacobus Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Dreamweaver, there was a differnce between Iraq and Kosvo... UN Mandate... plus other nations gave troops in real numbers.
jezic Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 I would call it typical. I love how the government spins everything. THey are almost as good as spinning things as apple computer corp. It is pretty sad that freedom of expression doesn't really guarantee anything.
SirMyztiq Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005
Hmm, you never saw massive protests like this when Clinton was reelected. Didn't he also deploy troops into Kosovo? What right did America have in intervening in their government? Ah, did liberals forget about that? Someone should come up with the cost of holding a protest like that, in terms of security, barricades, mace and what not. As others have said, just as they complain about Bush "wasting" money on the inaugaration, they're wasting money by protesting. It could have went to the tsunami victims!
Actually the money would of been spent anyways due to the tensions and fear of another attack. Kosovo was backed by the UN. Iraq is officially Bush's war. There is nothing to win. Nothing has been won. And no good has come of it. 40 Million dollars for a party? Yes, very Christian and conservative indeed. Don't forget there are alot of Republicans who have the "forget them" view on the Tsunami victims. One of my friends, whom a member of this board knows, happens to believe that we shouldn't help those victims because nobody helped us during 9/11. How stupid and ignorant can you get?

However many conservatives did protest. Edited January 22, 2005 by zwergel88
Philippe Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 dont u think if it was kerry tthere would be lots of pro-life protestors?
Actually no, not really (sure, some, but lots?)... The March for Life is Monday. They'll get enough protesting and traipsing about in the cold then. And even if there were I doubt they'd be throwing things at the Pres's car and burning things in the streets. There's protesting and then there is being a nuisance.

Paladin D Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Isn't it interesting how people complain about Bush's $40 million inaugeration, while Bill Clinton's (I believe it was his 2nd one as well) was around $50 million?
The Washington times? Why don't I just listen to the President's morning ramblings to get my information? If any of this was sufficient enough and critical enough it would of been all over the news, specially Bush's mouthpiece FoxNews. The fact is nothing has come from this war. The war on terror turned into the war in Iraq. America's interest? Who? The rich and the powerful? The arrogant Christians? Is that why he wants to cut down benefits on SS? Or maybe why he cut down on education funds and is planning to cut down on Medicaid and federal aid? Yes. Americas interest = money Patriotism is another word for arrogance.
crusader1234 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I was at least glad to see they got lots of coverage of Jenna Bush putting on lip gloss. Thats integral!
XIX Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 We should know by now that there are some very poor sports on both the right and the left.
XIX Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005
Once the election is over, devisiveness should stop. This behavior is ridiculous for anybody over the age of 10.
I disagree. We shouldn't have devisive behavior during the elections either. There should be nothing that needs stopping. (my bad with the double post)
crusader1234 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Well, I mean during an election things should be split. People should fight for what they believe in. This shouldn't mean that the entire country shold be split to the core, however. After an election though, people should continue to fight for their beliefs, but this insane right left up down split is annoying and pointless.
