Guest Aluigi Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Superman was once the one superhero who always had to save the world and all of Metropolis saw him as unique. Wonder Woman was also a unique superhero, the only one of her kind in her world. So too with Batman/Robin, they were the only superhoroes in Gotham City and presumably the world at the begining. Then came the Justice League, and basically they just keep bringing in more and more heroes into the same story that all used to be unique heroes. Same thing happened way back when. Apollo was a unique god, the one and only god to his people. Zeus was once a unique god, the one and only to his people. Then came Mount Olympus, and one by one each took his seat in the group of many gods on Mount Olympus, no longer considered the one and only god. See how that happens. The Roman Empire just accepted every single god admitting them to a growing number of gods that was even begining to admit african and asian gods. It wanted the hebrew god as well, but the jealous God of the Hebrews was too hot for them to handle. BLAM smash POW. ashes ashes and all the other gods fell DOWN. Such is the rise of polytheism, it's called amalgamation. Add that word to your apologetic lexicon
