Your family crest

after a discussion on another thread, i thought it would be nice if everyone put up a picture of their family crest and maybe some information about it.

here's mine:

First found in Agyllshire where they were seated from early times and their first records appeared on the early census rolls taken by the early Kings of Britain to determine the rate of taxation of their subjects.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Archibald McMillan settled in Wilmington N.C. in 1774; along with Ivor and his wife Jean, James, Malcolm his wife Catherine and three sons; John McMillan was banished from the west country of England and arrived in New England in 1685.



Motto Translated: I learn to succour the distressed.

I've also seen the motto "Fortis et Hospitalis" with the same coat of arms, which means "Strong and Friendly."

mine's a chinese character on a banner. woohah. we koreans don't even use the korean characters (but that's cuz written korean wasnt invented until much later, i guess)

Not sure.. I think there are websites where you can look up your family crest (not the toothpaste!!!). What kind of surname do you have? Irish, English, etc..?
