Tony Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 basically I went to clean my left ear out yesterday, well I pligged it up instead.. I can barely hear out of it now. been like this all yesterday and today.. can be very frusterating and annoying at times not being able to hear out of it... makes me feel bad for the deaf anyway anyone else ever had problems with their ears? know how to unplug an ear? I cant get anything to work.. I also ask for your prayers. not just for me but for the hearing impaired... thank you
Philippe Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 was it really waxy cause its probably just wax that got clogged... this may sound gross but go in there with your finger and try and pull some out with ur finger nail. hope that works
Tony Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 yeah its difficult when I hear (no pun intended) that we are not to use q-tips... its like wht are we supposed to use? thanks for the tip.. hoping my yawning does something.. it is making me more reflective if anything (note some of the things I said in the 1st post about deafness and all that)
Philippe Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 yawning wont help, you have to get the junk outta there. go flush it with warm water also (heats up and loosens the wax) and i always use q-tips
franciscanheart Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 oh just for anyone who wants to REALLY clean their ears.... there is this thing called and ear candle. you lie on the floor on your side, put the candle in your ear and light it. it smokes out all of the ear wax. [its like a little hollow tube candle thing and it goes up into the tube.] youd be surprised just how much ear wax you actually had!
cmotherofpirl Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Warm solution of half hydogen peroxide and half alcohol. Peroxide cleans and alcohol dries ear canal to prevent infections.
Dreamweaver Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 I use Qtips, despite what doctors say. You pry the Qtip out of my cold, dead hand! If you're worried about puncturing the ear drum, try taking a warm shower (or hot wash cloth) to loosen the earwax and then take a warm wash cloth and try to wash it out. Problem is, you can't really "scoop" it out like you can with Qtips. Hughey, have you ever used ear candles? I'd be scared about dripping wax onto my outer ear or having my hair catch fire...
Tony Posted January 27, 2005 Author Posted January 27, 2005 got some drops... but I just have this feeling it wont help
karin Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 the ear candles are made out of paper.. at least the ones i have used. or maybe waxed coated paper i am not sure. but they aren't dangerous and they work good. i think you should try the hydrogen peroxide too it has worked for me in the past.
jimbo Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 I'm "hard of hearing". (Caused by mild CP.) I wear hearing aids at school (only 'cause they make me. I look like a dork with them), and they seem to cause alot of wax build-up. I use Q-tips to clean out the wax.
