Lost is a show that I've been hooked on since the first scene. It's about a plane crash on a desert island where there were about 36 survivors.

It's from the creator of Alias, J.J. Abrams. The absolute worst episode of the show had to be episode #12. However, I'm torn because it also had one of my most favorite scenes in the series.

To set up this scene: Charlie is this punk rocker, that was Christian, and fell into a life of drugs and sin. He's struggling because someone on the island got kidnapped. Rose is this older lady whose husband was in a different part of the plane when it started to fall apart.

Charlie: Your husband was in the tail section of the plane.
Rose: Yes, he was, but he'll be back.
Charlie: You think he's still alive?
Rose: I know he is.
Charlie: How?
Rose: I just do. It's a fine line between denial and faith. It's much better on my side.
Charlie: *cries* Help me
Rose: Baby, I'm not the one that can help you.... Heavenly Father, we thank You. We thank You for bringing us together tonight, and we ask that You... that You show Charlie....

Lost is the best show this year.

It premieres tonight, and repeated again tomorrow, I hope that it really is good.

Where does it premiere tonight? It started here in America last fall. There's been about 14 episodes so far.

One of the theories circulating is that the island is actually Purgatory...

I've heard that before. I'm not sure that I believe that, but it could be.

but people die on the island... it would be a kind of messed-up purgaotry if it indicated that people were hellbound or something...

That's true. I thought of the same thing. People do die on the island. So that theory appears to be out.

jmjtina: It's on ABC :)

Dying doesn't negate the purgatory theory. It could just mean that their purification had ended and they were now in heaven. That would be pretty cool if the theory were true. It would be even more cool if they suffered according to their disposition and relationship to God, like in Dante's purgatory. :pitchfork:

You know what would be awesome? If when they died on the island, there was a mysterious glow that took them away, and that glow was revealed to be Mary or angels or Jesus.

In Australia, and the first episode was actually repeated twice, but this week's episode's only gonna be repeated once.

Oh gotcha! Yeah, they've repeated the first episode three times here in America.

not in a week, but spread out some.
