MrsFrozen Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Thank you all so much for your prayers. I can't tell you how much they mean. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE continue to pray for him!! Elliott's appendicitis was an awful case. The rupture was very bad. He is doing as well as he can be. He's not allowed to eat or drink anything and is taking fluids through an IV. The doctor said that he may be able to start on clear fluids tomorrow morning. He is getting up with much pain and taking short, slow walks to keep his lungs working well, to avoid fevers. He has a low-grade fever of about 99.2, but last night he spiked a fever of 102. He is taking huge doses of antibiotics to prevent infection. I'm not doing very well right now. I'm trying to be strong for him, but right now I can't stop crying. All the nurses and doctors tell me he won't die, but I am still so scared that he will. Please pray that he doesn't die! Please pray that he doesn't develop any complications. Please pray for me! I can't tell you how special Elliott is to me. He means the world to me, and I can't stand the thought of living without him. Tomorrow is our 1 year anniversary of being married in the Church. I have been having such a difficult time. Please, please, please pray for us. I want my husband to be home and healthy. They are saying he might be out by Monday at the earliest. I am so scared. I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to. I can't describe to you how stressed out I am. I CAN'T lose my husband. I am going to pray another rosary for him. He has already been anointed once, and I think I'll ask the chaplain at the hospital is he'll anoint him again. Thank you, again, for your prayers. Please don't forget to pray for us!
Birgitta Noel Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Hang in there. I know what it's like to sit at the bedside of someone you love when they're in the hospital. Take a deep breath and remember that you are not alone. Say what you need to say, but keep smiling. He'll get better sooner if he feels like you're doing ok because he won't worry. God is in control, be not afraid. I'm sending my guardian angel to be by your side. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you both. In Mary, Birgitta Noel
Cathurian Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Cathurian Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 All the angels and all the saints, please pray for Elliot and his wife, family, and friends! Amen.
Seven77 Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 you both are in my prayers! Jesus be merciful! Psalm 13, and 23
Norseman82 Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 I asked St. Erasmus (Elmo), the patron saint of appendicitis sufferers, to pray for your husband.
journeyman Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 prayers for healing, prayers for peace, prayers for grace Oh! how I love Thee, Jesus! my soul aspires to Thee-- And yet for one day only my simple prayer I pray! Come reign within my heart, smile tenderly on me, To-day, dear Lord, to-day. But if I dare take thought of what the morrow brings-- That fills my fickle heart with dreary, dull dismay; I crave, indeed, my God, trials and sufferings, But only for to-day! O sweetest Star of heaven! O Virgin, spotless, blest, Shining with Jesus' light, guiding to Him my way! O Mother! 'neath thy veil let my tired spirit rest, For this brief passing day! Soon shall I fly afar among the holy choirs, Then shall be mine the joy that never knows decay; And then my lips shall sing, to heaven's angelic lyres, The eternal, glad To-day!
