corban711 Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 peace be with you all! i am sure that on this forum there would be quite a few people who either really like or are familiar with Jars of Clay. what are your favorite songs by them? they have many songs i like but my favorite by far is worlds apart.
Apollo Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 World's Apart is hands down #1!!! A top 5 favorite of mine ever in the history of music.
Specter Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Worlds Apart! Also: Love Song for a Savior Liquid Art in Me Flood He basically their first album and scattered songs from their others.
AndytheConqueror Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 Oh Snap! I love Jars. Yeah I loved Worlds Apart the fisrt time i heard it. I think Sunny Days captured my ears 2 summers though.
ilovechrist Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Revolution is one of their older songs.. but the best.
jezic Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 i like flood. Good song. I like a lot of theirs though as well.
inDEED Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005
World's Apart is hands down #1!!! A top 5 favorite of mine ever in the history of music.
THAT'S MY FAVORITE ONE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I look beyond the empty cross forgetting what my life has cost and wipe away the crimson stains and dull the nails that still remain More and more I need you now, I owe you more each passing hour the battle between grace and pride I gave up not so long ago So steal my heart and take the pain and wash the feet and cleanse my pride take the selfish, take the weak, and all the things I cannot hide take the beauty, take my tears the sin-soaked heart and make it yours take my world all apart take it now, take it now and serve the ones that I despise speak the words I can't deny watch the world I used to love fall to dust and thrown away I look beyond the empty cross forgetting what my life has cost so wipe away the crimson stains and dull the nails that still remain so steal my heart and take the pain take the selfish, take the weak and all the things I cannot hide take the beauty, take my tears take my world apart, take my world apart I pray, I pray, I pray take my world apart"
inDEED Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Also... Love Song For A Savior Portrait of an Apology
joemal1117 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 "5 candles" is great, so is "Revolution" and "Jesus blood " is quite nice too
point5 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 their first album is: THE GREATEST ALBUM EVER MADE! by any group. this is not my opinion...is is simply a fact. If I were stranded on an island for the rest of my life...I would not make a burned cd of my favorite songs to have with me....just that album in it's entirety. World's Apart is the greatest song on the album too. pure brilliance. -Kiel
Specter Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 point5: I agree to some extent. They really haven't ever been able to touch that album musically or lyrically with any of their follow-ups. It's a shame, too. Their next album: Redemption Songs, features a lot of hymns, redone.
jdjars Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 ;-) yay. you guys rock. hmm... my fav song. i dont know. i really like grace, worlds apart, jealous kind, FRAIL, trouble is, and nothing but the blood. in my opinion, their work on who we are instead is incredible, and thats the band they should have started out as in the first place. i've been a big fan for a while... and i remember at one concert i went to, they played "i'll fly away" from redemption songs... none of them could stop smiling, and it really made an impact on the crowd. i mean, we all stumbled out from that show with goofy smiles and all that... they take their music seriously and they literally blew us away during that song. my fav album is definately who we are instead. -wild grin-
Catholictothecore Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 do they sing the "Hands of the Potter" song? Cause I'm on my way back home Cause I'm on my way back home Into the hands that made the wine from the water Into the hands, the hands of the potter!
daveybe Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 Yeah, Worlds Apart is lyrically powerful. But HARD to sing. When i'm in the car alone, i try to hit the high note on "fall to dust and blow away" and i've never succeeded. People passing me on the thruway must wonder what i'm up to. I'm also kinda partial to the bonus track on their first album. "Four Seven" i think it's called? Funky!
Specter Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005
Specter knows his music...
This could become another Bo Jackson thing "Specter knows Music." "Specter knows Movies."
littleflower+JMJ Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 specter can put all of us to shame hahahaha i mean he even knows who PLUS ONE is!!
