Tony Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 the search was slow so I couldnt find the other SB thread.. Anyway.. this was a thousand times better than last years Super Bowl HT show.. it was Paul McCartney! Can't go wrong with a beatle anyone else like it or dislike it?
dUSt Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I liked it. It made an MTV production seem amatuerish.
Guest Eremite Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 I was laughing at all the 20 somethings rocking with a holdover from the 60's like he was P Diddy. Why people listen to the Beatles will forever elude me. Thank God for Phatmass.
Socrates Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 (edited) Paul McCartney kept his clothes on! Whewww! Edited February 8, 2005 by Socrates
HomeTeamFamily Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 i really enjoyed the halftime show as well....especially when the whole crowd sang....man that was awesome the national anthem was sweet too....sung like it was supposed to be sung, not some overdramatized, pop culture version of it with long drawn out notes and whatnot
Ash Wednesday Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005
Why people listen to the Beatles will forever elude me.
U LOCO! :locosign: I didn't watch it. I don't care about the Superbowl, the halftime show, or the commercials. It's all silly.
curtins Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 OHHHH MANNN HALF TIME SOOOO MUCH BETTER THEN LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON MR PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no "wardrobe malfunctions"
jgirl Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 That was an amazing halftime show. Paul McCartney is a legend. The stage with the video images was cool, but other than that, it was just Paul in a t-shirt and his guitar and piano. And it kicked butt! The teens from our youth group and I were joking that he had a wardrobe malfunction when he took his jacket off. I think it tied with U2 in 2002 for best halftime show of my lifetime!
Tony Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 yeah.. I really thik because of what happened last year.. they really pushed for a family oriented type show
Paladin D Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I was glad he didn't have a pants malfunction.
CajunPirate Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005
yeah.. I really thik because of what happened last year.. they really pushed for a family oriented type show
Yes, but regardless, good has come out of that situation! Just take this years half-time show as a step in the right direction. Out of evil (pathetic at that) comes hopes. That and Paul rocks.
AtheistAlex Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I guess I am the only person who geninely felt it sucked. It was too lame. Much too lame, and only Paul McCartney? Come on, guys, one song was okay for an opener, after that, well, then you're just killing music.
bookwyrm Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 yeah, 'Hey Jude' is great, but not what I associate with the superbowl, y'know? It doesn't exactly get you pumped up. But I can see how they want to be pretty conservative after last year's fiasco.
ya know, i'm not a big of fan of 'hey jude'. but, i really liked it the other night(prob because the end wasn't 10 min long, it was live, and there were fireworks--can't beat pyrotechnics ). i enjoyed the show. it was clean, and c'mon, even though rocking out is more typical for the Super Bowl, it was good to get a classic act!!
jgirl Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Not to mention, the Beatles are probably one of the main things in America that spans all kinds of generations. I love pop music, but this was classic. I remember the, "Heal the World" Superbowl with Michael Jackson. That wasn't incredibly upbeat for a halftime show either.
