littleflower+JMJ Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005
thanks guys, but this is not going well for me, I've got a real problem with scrupulosity here, or so I doubt, I've been wondering what to do about this for over 2 hours now about if I should have recieved Communion at Mass? I have come to the conclusion that it is ok, and I am ok because I ate it by accident..
yup i agree. it was an accident.
Tony Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 (edited)
. According to Father John Huels in The Pastoral Companion (Franciscan Herald Press), abstinence does not include meat juices and liquid foods made from meat. Thus, such foods as chicken broth, consomme, soups cooked or flavored with meat, meat gravies or sauces, as well as seasonings or condiments made from animal fat are not forbidden. So it is permissible to use margarine and lard.
this is what I followed.. Had noodle soup with a chicken flavor but no actual chicken.. I was hesitant until I looked around and found this Edited February 10, 2005 by Tony

They do say that confession is the best remedy to combat the scruple monster. I call it "collaring the beast." A couple weeks ago I missed Mass because I thought there would be mass on campus, but it was a 3 day weekend and I forgot they didn't have mass on 3 day weekends and it's an evening mass I usually go to. I know in my heart I didn't mean to miss mass, would never do so intentionally, but I still went to reconciliation because it gives peace of mind and reminds us of God's love and mercy. Be at peace!
