Maddalena Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Do any of y'all know if there are any patrons saints of music that have been known to grant a request like St. Jude or St. Anthony or something? Like... you give a request, and they do your request? Thanks. :B
Fides_et_Ratio Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Saint Cecilia!!! is the patron saint of musicians, music, etc.
JazzforJesus Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 but ther is also St Dunsten, who answers better?
Maddalena Posted February 17, 2005 Author Posted February 17, 2005 I'm going to be taking violin lessons, and I want to pray that I practice regularly and that I get really good at it.
FutureSoror Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 There's another one, too. Is it St. Gregory?
JazzforJesus Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 oh yea how can i forget St Gregory the Great
Catholictothecore Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 St. Cecilla is so...there's no other word for it.... COOL!!!!! :8)
RemnantRules Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 thank you futuresoror!!! St. Gregory the Great is my patron saint.
corban711 Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 i also like praying to Bl. Dina Belanger who is mostly unknown, but is incredible. She lived in Canada right before St. Faustina started receiving the Divine Mercy visions in Poland. Bl. Dina's patrons were St. Therese and St. Cecilia. She played piano and sung very well. So I pray to her too when i play.

I'm in Musical Theater and was wonering also which other patron saints, besides Saint Cecilia (who's !) there are for music.... Blessed Dina Belanger pray for us!!
Maddalena Posted February 20, 2005 Author Posted February 20, 2005 I told my Mama that when I learn how to play the violin, I could follow eveyone around the house playing the Psycho theme.

Dina would probably be really good if you are in musical theatre. i read her autobiography...wow! she is really amazing. it is hard to find, but very much worth it if you love saints like Therese and Faustina...she is a lot like them. She talks a lot about the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus and consoling His Heart. But I always pray to her before playing my guitar or "attempting" to sing.
Cam42 Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 My favorite Mass in the Vianesse style is Gunoud's St. Cecilia. It is the most beautiful Mass ever composed. Appropos, I think. Yes, hot stuff, it beats the ever-lovin' snot out of anything done with the guitar.....EVER!!!!!!! :knockout: :squash: :hammer: Cam42

Do you know where I could find her autobiography? Therese is my confirmation Saint
karin Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I have a hunch maybe Saint Genesius? Because My music director gave me a medal and it has Saint Cecilia and Saint Genesius on it.
corban711 Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005
That's awesome! Do you know where I could find her autobiography? Therese is my confirmation Saint
oh awesome! Therese is my very favorite. she is my sister who teaches me everything. we are very, very close friends. she picked me to be one of her friends because i am very weak, very little. i try to read everything of hers and i have to read something by her or selected books about her constantly to be completely formed in her way. i love Therese so much! Bl. Dina is like Therese with lots of mystical experiences. but Therese was her friend and Dina saw herself as one foretold by St. Therese when she said there would be a legion of little souls. ok...well this website offers Bl. Dina's autobiography but you can't order online. only by mail or by phone, i think. http://jp2ics.org/html/products/books.html i can't find the site i bought it off..i will keep looking. i will post websites that offer here books as i find them
